Be Happy; that sounds like it might be a great name for a song…or half a name. I recently entered the OneBloodmobile to donate some very high powered AB+ blood. As the young lady took blood pressure, pulse, and other vital data she perceived I was a happy 73 year OLD man. She mentioned she often meets people who are not happy. She asked me “how does a person be happy”? My response was that personality plays a role along with good health. But my greatest joy is knowing when my life ends I will be in heaven forevermore. I know this because I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour. This faith and trust in the Lord Jesus gives me great peace while living in a troubled world. It doesn’t make every day a great day, but it does allow me to enjoy inner peace even during troubled times. This link can help you to know that you can be in heaven at the end of your life. What-if?
After I arrived home Faye showed me something she came across in an old scrapbook of her mother’s. It was right on track for my OneBlood conversation. These thoughts were placed in the scrapbook 30 or 40 years ago. It is very good advice of how live life through Biblical principles.
THE REST OF THE STORY: I was attracted to the bloodmobile that day because it was in the parking lot of Culver’s Ice Cream store. That is my favorite location to give blood. Give a pint of blood; Get a free print of ice cream. Also, the flavor of the day that day was Brown Cow. After donating my blood these young ladies accepted my offer to get each of them a flavor of the day ice cream treat. I went into Culver’s and learned they were promoting the Brown Cow flavor by giving a single scoop serving free as you donate $1 to Future Farmers of America. ( My FFA Jacket ) So I got three single servings for $3. That is another way to be happy! The Bible often uses the word blessed as we would use the word happy. I was truly blessed!
The Apostle Paul mentions all nations are one blood as he informs the Greeks at Athens about God. (Acts 17:22-26) Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
