Our church occasionally has a special baby dedication service. It is a few minutes during a Sunday morning service when parents of young children bring their baby or young child before the congregation to dedicate this young one to the Lord and commit to raise the child in a home centered on Christ and Christian values. Twenty-two years ago our Son and Daughter-in-law participated in a baby dedication service along with several other couples. After the service Nichol, our Daughter-in-law, and her baby daughter, Haley, (on the right) had a picture taken with her friend Emily, and her baby son, Carter (on the left). Carter’s birthday is December 5 and Haley’s is December 19. They are only two weeks difference in age. Nichol, Emily, and their husbands grew up together in the church. This was a time to celebrate the next step in their lives, becoming a parent.

The other picture below is Haley and Cater at age twenty-two. It is their wedding day. They married each other June 9, 2024. I’m not sure there is a moral to the story unless it is to be mindful of who is included in pictures of your baby. They are wonderful young adults and we loved the opportunity to celebrate their wedding with them. Blessings!

Haley & Cater were married in a barn. Haley’s Great Grandpa was a dairy farmer. He and Great Grandma would have loved to see a wedding in a barn. There were no cattle, but there were a few wild animals. So much fun!

Below is the professional version wedding video. Enjoy!
